“Fuck the midtones”… Gerhard Steidl, a producer of print products just as unique as his production company. His legendary, unconditional obsession with his trade has led him to become the publisher of choice for an A list of artists that include Martin Parr, Ed Ruscha, Robert Adams, Jeff Wall and Robert Frank among others.
Gereon Wetzel and Jörg Adolph followed Gerhard Steidl around the world for a year and the outcome is the film ‘How to make a book with Steidl’ (see the trailer above). via The Hansen family
